Farewell to Greg Smith

If you did not have the opportunity to meet Greg Smith during his time at NSU, you missed out. He is described by many as a friendly presence most commonly found carrying a camera and present at numerous on- and off-campus events—fine arts, athletic, and academic.

Recently, Smith accepted a position as Project Manager at Molded Fiber Glass (MFG) Companies here in Aberdeen. However, while at Northern, his position was filled with action, change, and endless decision-making.
As the Director of University Relations and Marketing, Smith was responsible for all communications, marketing, and advertising involved with increasing enrollment.
Other areas included developing upon the academic reputation of the university and promoting the accomplishments of faculty and students.
He knew many students by name and would take the time to get to know them personally and have a conversation with them.
Thank you, Greg Smith, for your forward thinking and presence on campus. Thank you for your time and dedication to sharing with others the bright futures that Northern has had a part in starting, and we wish you the best in all of your future endeavors.
