This past summer. the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) designated 658 swimming and diving teams, representing 388 colleges and universities, as Scholar All-America teams. The Northern State University swim team landed on the list with a 3.69 semester grade point average (GPA).
The recognition comes as a result of each team’s classroom performance in the previous semester. To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, program must have achieved a 3.00 GPA or higher.
“We are very excited and pleased with our athletes’ performance in the classroom,” noted Head Coach, Elyce Kastigar.
Individually, the Wolves tallied seven student-athletes with a GPA above a 4.0 on the year and all 18 swimmers with a semester mark above a 3.0.
“Their work ethic not only applies in the pool,” said Kastigar. “There is great emphasis from our entire team, and excelling in the classroom is very important to our athletes.”
