The Northern State University men’s and women’s cross country team ran to third and first place team finishes from the Herb Blakely Invite hosted by Dakota State. Dakotah Bullen was the top finisher for the NSU women with a first place finish, while Clay Danielson led the men finishing in eighth overall hitting the line at 27:32.0.
The women tallied 28 team points with five finishers in the top-15 in the race and a team average time of 19:27.0. Bullen’s time of 18:13.00 bested her first place finish from a season ago at 18:28.0, moving her up the list to the fourth place time in meet history. Bullen tabbed the fastest course time in the past eight years. Lindsey Gast followed in third place with a time of 19:26.0, with Paige Larson close behind at 19:28.0. Both Gast and Larson improved by 30 seconds from the 2015 finishes in the meet. Madison Leapaldt rounded out the top-10 for the Wolves in ninth at 20:02.0, while Sami Shields edged into the top-15 in 11th overall.
The men tallied 88 team points with a team average time of 28:25.0.
The Wolves will be back in action September 24 at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota.
