Anything is possible in the daylight of tomorrow, which is what this year’s Gypsy Days theme truly encapsulates.
This year marks the 101st Gypsy Days and the theme is “Look to the Future.”
During this year’s week-long celebration, September 26 to October 1, there will be several activities and events for students and alumni to be a part of.
To kick things off, students can participate in Points of Pride. All students have to do is wear Northern apparel and fill out a slip at the Points of Pride table stationed on campus. Multiple prizes will be awarded.
On Monday night from 5:00-7:00, there will be a royalty meet-and-greet dinner. Students can use their meal plan or flex dollars to attend. The event is a great opportunity for students to “meet the royalty and have a great meal” according to Zack North, Gypsy Days Chair.
On Wednesday from 11:30-2:00 there will be Lunch for a Buck. Pay one dollar and get a walking taco.
At 7:00 Thursday night is Coronation where the Queen and Marshall will be crowned. North says “My favorite part is finding out who the Queen and Marshall are. We have 10 amazing candidates this year.”
Following Coronation, the traditional Burning of the N takes place, which entails food, music, fun, and unforgettable memories.
Friday night at 7:00 there will be a Dodgeball Tournament and the Points of Pride winners will also be announced.
Saturday morning at 9:00 is the annual Gypsy Days parade where students can get goodies and support the school.
Gypsy Days wraps up with the football game Saturday afternoon at 2:30. As always, it looks to be another exciting year for Gypsy Days.
