The Northern State University men’s and women’s cross-country teams competed in the annual Roy Griak Invite September 24 from Les Bolstad Golf Course.
The men’s team completed the race with a 35th place finish overall, while the women took 19th overall. Augustana University recorded the first place finish for the men and the University of Mary logged first for the women.
Leading the way for NSU in the men’s 8k was junior Clay Danielson with a time of 28:56. Tanner Peltier and Jackson Goodall each finished under the 30 minute mark, recording times of 29:06 and 29:29.
Aiding the Wolves in their 19th place finish in the women’s 6k was Dakotah Bullen. The senior took eighth overall with a time of 23:12.6, representing Northern State as their only top 10 finalist. Paige Larson also had a top finish for NSU, completing the race in 25:04.6. Juniors Lindsey Gast and Madison Leapaldt finished strongly for the Wolves as well, each running at a 25-minute pace.
The men’s and women’s cross-country teams will be back in action this weekend for the Gypsy Days Steps for Shep race at 7:30a.m. on October 1 from the Barnett Center.
