The Wolves downed the Upper Iowa Peacocks, improving to 16-6 overall and 9-5 in league action. NSU took the match with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-22.
Offensively, Northern tallied three players in double-digit kills led by Tori Biach with 17. Biach averaged 5.67 kills per set in the match, while also hitting a team leading .500. Holly Vancura and Lauren McCafferty were also in double-digits with ten kills each, while Jenna Reiff and Kellie Schmit added seven apiece.
Ashley Rozell paced the offense with 47 assists, averaging 15.67 per set. She was also third on the team defensively with 15 digs and added an ace and a kill.
Jaiden Langlie continued to play all out volleyball with a career high 28 digs in the match. The Wolves libero averaged 9.3 digs per set, recording ten digs in each of the two opening sets. Vancura added 16 digs in the victory, while defensive specialists Annika van Oosbree and Amanda Tobin tallied eight and seven respectively.
Schmit led the Wolves at the net with two blocks, while Vancura, Biach, and McCafferty each notched one. Biach and Reiff rounded out the team total with five and four digs respectively.
Northern will open on the road Friday, October 29, with a 7p.m. match versus Minnesota State. The Wolves will then travel to Concordia-St. Paul for a 4p.m. match on Saturday.
