Three Wolves Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

   The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the All-Region honorees for the 2016-17 NCAA Division II indoor track and field season.
   The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions’ top-3 relay teams.
   Northern State University’s Hanneke Oosterwegel, Deshonn Brown, and Sasha Hovind earned the honors for the Wolves after solid indoor seasons.
   Oosterwegel has been a force to be reckoned with in the 400m run this season, winning numerous contests, including the NSIC Championship crown this past Saturday.
   She has broken the NSU school record on multiple occasions and holds a personal record time of 54.90 in the event. Oosterwegel ranks fifth nationally in the event.
   Brown was honored in the high jump for the central region. He jumped a personal best 2.10m over the weekend at the NSIC Indoor Championships, finishing third in the event and earning All-Conference accolades. Brown’s personal best sits 11th in the nation in the men’s high jump.
   Hovind notches yet another distance all-region honor, this time around in the 5000m run. She finished second overall from the NSIC Championships with a time of 16:58.86, earning the senior All-Conference accolades. She currently ranks 14th nationally in the event.
